Thank you friends who have joined me in prayer over the last two weeks for Orlando and the LGBT community and people worldwide. For the last prayer focus I want to direct our attention towards the church, individuals and ministries who reach out to the LGBT community and walk beside those wishing to resolve their faith and sexuality.
Pray that God would continue to walk with those grieving the loss of their loved ones
Pray for those recovering from injuries received in the attack.
Pray for those experiencing mental and emotional trauma associated with the shootings.
Pray that God would fully equip churches to love the LGBT community well.
Pray for local ministries who walk with people resolving their faith and sexuality; that they would be a beckon of hope and sanctuary for those wrestling with their faith and sexuality.
Churches and Pastors
Pray that God would give pastors and churches world-wide the remain fully committed to God’s design and intent for sexuality, marriage, and gender.
Pray that God would give pastors discernment and wisdom concerning pro-gay theology, the reformation project, gay christianity.
Pray that God would equip pastors, and lay ministers with the skills necessary to walk effectively with those wrestling with their faith and sexuality.
Finally that God would empower pastors, churches, and lay ministers throughout the world to offer a balance of grace and truth and be true reflections of Christ love for LGBT throughout the world.
Ministries and Individuals
Pray that God would allow opportunities that walk beside people resolving their faith and sexuality would be able to equip churches and individuals around the world to effectively walk with people dealing with same-sex attractions.
Pray that God would protect such ministries against local and national legislation that would seek to close their doors and rule their work as illegal.
Pray God will abundantly provide for such ministries, both with funding, staff and volunteers.
Pray that God would grant courage to individuals to share their stories of redemption and remain strong in their faith.
Take it a Step Further
I want to encourage you to prayerfully consider two ways to be involved in equipping the Body of Christ to walk with those resolving their faith and sexuality.
First consider financially supporting ministries such as:
Exodus is a Non Profit, Christian ministry in the Asia-Pacific region helping men and women find a way to follow Christ and to apply their desire to be disciples of Christ and steward their sexuality.
Living Hope Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational, 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to proclaim God’s truth as we journey with those who are seeking sexual and relational wholeness through a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you are a pastor, elder, board member or key church leader in I want to encourage you to invite Living Hope’s executive Director Ricky Chelette to come and equip your staff and church to effectively walk beside those wishing to resolve their faith and sexuality. Ricky’s email is email@example.com
In July my Love is a Verb installment will cover three key aspects of talking with LGBT people about faith and sexuality.
Thanks for joining me
